It begins with a fundamental truth: Putin and peace are incompatible. Putin is an unconditional aggressor and the architect of aggression. Without a doubt, had he shown even the slightest interest in peace, he would not have initiated any of his full-scale invasions. If he truly desired peace today, he could immediately halt the rocket and drone attacks on civilian populations, as well as the mass assaults on civilians and critical infrastructure. This would signal that he is at least somewhat rational and returning to reality. However, this is not applicable to Putin's psychological profile. The illusion that he seeks any form of peace does not exist. Instead, Putin desires war through various means, using operational pauses merely to reorganize his forces and resources.
