Under President Vladimir Putin's rule, Russia has experienced a severe tightening of restrictions against political opposition, culminating in a series of repressive policies and the tragic death of Alexei Navalny, a prominent opposition figure. As Christmas lights twinkle in cities around the world, casting a warm glow over streets and homes, our hearts turn towards the yearning for peace, particularly in regions torn apart by conflict. This Christmas, our thoughts are especially with Ukraine and the Russian people living under an increasingly authoritarian regime. The spirit of the season, a time for hope and renewal, invites us to envision a world where peace reigns and totalitarian rule is a relic of the past.

The events of the last two decades in Russia vividly depict a deteriorating political situation in the country. Under the leadership of Vladimir Putin, Russia has become a hostage to a totalitarian regime where violence, suppression of free speech, and political opponents have become the norm. However, the most tragic chapter in modern Russian history is the war against Ukraine, which has claimed hundreds of thousands of lives and shattered hopes for peaceful coexistence.

Dear Alexei Navalny,

Today we gather together to congratulate you on your birthday. Despite your difficult position as a political prisoner, we know that you continue to fight and hold on with all your strength. Your willpower and determination inspire us all.

The situation in Ukraine continues to worsen due to ongoing daily rocket attacks that violate international law and leave devastation and death in their wake. Civilian objects, peaceful cities, and innocent lives have become victims in this merciless war. The international community must come together and do everything possible to end this tragedy.

In an era where globalization and interconnectedness should foster unity and cooperation, we find ourselves witnessing a distressing display of aggression by the Russian Federation under the leadership of President Vladimir Putin.

Today and now, Putin has managed to unleash a war not only with NATO but also with the most principled rival - the United States. Just yesterday, he called the military operations in Ukraine a "military operation." Many were sure that he was bluffing, but he was just testing the ground, testing America and NATO for weakness.

Almost five months have already passed since the invasion of Putin's troops into the territory of sovereign Ukraine. Every day, rockets flying overhead have become commonplace for every resident of Ukraine.

In Russia it is forbidden to call the invasion of Ukraine a war, they prefer to call it a special operation. The explanation of the taboo on the use of the word "war" from the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation is as follows - war implies the announcement of mobilization and the introduction of martial law. Otherwise, there is no war.

The Russian army is hopelessly stuck in Ukraine and suffering serious losses. The planned blitzkrieg did not take place, and building up a military group without general mobilization is practically impossible. The Kremlin dictator involved in this war had almost all combat-ready troops, which turned out to be insufficient.

Why is the Kremlin government calling the war in Ukraine a special military operation? In fact, ordinary Russians certainly do not need war, because it is associated only with the tears of mothers, wives and children for their dead sons, husbands and fathers. War destroys entire cities, brings hunger, fear, poverty and, most importantly, takes the lives of both soldiers and ordinary civilians.

The Russian Federation is conducting a special operation to denazify and demilitarizes Ukraine. Therefore, the army liberates such cities as Nikolaev, Mariupol, Kharkov and others from the Nazi battalions "Azov" and others. As the command regularly reports, everything is going according to a predetermined plan, and victory would have been in your pocket if the Ukrainian battalions had not covered themselves with women and children in urban areas in order to later accuse the Russian army of blowing up those very houses.

The main question that troubled the world over the last few months - is whether Vladimir Putin will unleash a full-scale war on the European continent, or not?  Western politicians have predicted a serious package of sanctions, and the head of the self-proclaimed republics declared a general mobilization and evacuation simultaneously.
