Appeal to the global community

The world community has witnessed how the so-called "military operation" launched by the Kremlin is becoming an accurate punitive operation. The Russian army failed the blitzkrieg with a bang and began to fire at the civilian population continuously.

In the besieged cities, power is lost, and there is a shortage of drinking water, and all this is fraught with a natural humanitarian catastrophe. About one million people have already left Ukraine, and every day, this figure is increasing at a catastrophically fast pace. They need urgent help.

Meanwhile, the President of the Russian Federation, along with his team of propagandists, continue to brazenly lie about the "liberation" of the Ukrainian people from the Nazis and Bendera. The blocking of social networks that can shed light on the shocking truth to the Russian people continues in full swing.

Ukraine dreams of liberation - of liberation from the tenacious grip of the Kremlin dictatorship. In 2014, during the "revolution of dignity", Ukrainians showed unity in their desire to overthrow the puppet government and follow the European democratic path.

Naturally, Vladimir Putin did not like this scenario: he set himself the goal of regaining control over the neighbouring state or completely razing it to the ground. Now, he is just engaged in implementing his insidious plan; his imperial ambitions are already visible to the naked eye, and only a desperate blind fool does not see this.

However, the world community is not silently watching what is happening. European countries and the United States are imposing harsh sanctions against the Kremlin that could have prevented such a terrible scenario a few years ago. Russian citizens clearly understand that the current Russian authorities' policy is disastrous for the entire country.

Today, Ukraine is receiving weapons that could have prevented the invasion of Russian troops if they had been delivered to the country earlier. However, neither sanctions nor weapons can bring back the lives of the people who became victims of this senseless war, which began in 2014.

These measures are, in fact, ineffective. When people die from rocket attacks every day, it is inappropriate to think about containing the conflict. Everyone has already become convinced that human life means nothing to Putin - this became obvious even during the first and second Chechen campaigns.

Putin will stick to his line until the end when he reaches his goal or is stopped. NATO is rightfully considered the most powerful military alliance in humanity's history. Nevertheless, it plays the role of a silent observer of terrible war crimes.

Every day, representatives of the world media are witnessing how Russian soldiers rampage on Ukrainian soil. Putin's war can safely be called a rare moment of moral clarity when the forces of good put up a desperate resistance to the forces of evil, not in Hollywood films, but in real life. There is no rivalry between religions and ideologies; there are no controversial issues - only war for the sake of war.

NATO is not obligated to protect a country that is not a member of the alliance. However, no document prohibits the provision of military assistance to a non-bloc state.

The blood of the Ukrainian people is already visible on the dazzling white sleeves of the West. In 1994, Ukraine decided to close its nuclear power status by signing the Budapest Memorandum, in which Russia, the United Kingdom, and the United States became guarantors.

But when Putin's army annexed the Crimean peninsula and occupied part of eastern Ukraine in 2014, instead of concrete actions and commitments to protect, the so-called "guarantors of security" limited themselves to international condemnation.

If the world community had not stood aside back then, this nightmare that every Ukrainian is experiencing today could have been prevented. It was necessary to supply weapons and impose sanctions back in 2014.

However, Western leaders only talked about the danger of confrontation with Russia, fearing the outbreak of war. But the war still started. Its beginning was a matter of time: success gives wings to dictators. Everyone unanimously ignored this lesson of history.

In late 2021 and early 2022, Russia gradually increased the number of its troops near the borders of a neighbouring state, and the West limited itself to empty threats. Instead of providing Ukraine with modern weaponry and showing the Russian President that sanctions can hurt the teeth, the free world has remained a passive observer as Russian technology invades a neighbouring state.

Ukraine continues to defend its freedom and sovereignty heroically for the third month, and the West, as before, remains a passive observer and is not even going to interfere. Volodymyr Zelenskiy showed courage - he did not leave his native country in every possible way and urged NATO to close the sky over Ukraine.

NATO refused to close the sky over Ukraine, justifying that this could lead to a third world war. They habitually took a wait-and-see attitude, watching Putin escalate the conflict on his terms. And the war, meanwhile, will bring more and more human lives.

The Russians do not need this or any other war. They need time to learn to distinguish truth from lies and start acting. Sooner or later, it will happen anyway. And until this happens, the war in the neighbouring country will prevail.

Ukrainians, thrice betrayed and sacrificed for the sins of the West, are martyrs of biblical proportions. The whole world must rally and act as a united front to save innocent lives.
