The requirement to introduce a no-fly zone regime in the airspace of Ukraine

For more than two months, little Ukraine has been bravely defending its population and territories from the army of the largest country in the world. Over these two-plus months, Ukraine has suffered considerable losses, both among the military and among the civilian population.

With massive airstrikes and regular rocket attacks, the Russian army is wiping out small towns and villages and destroying civilian infrastructure. In Mariupol, the largest city in the region after Donetsk, there is practically no single intact building left. Kharkiv, Nikolaev, Izyum, Volnovakha and other cities suffered greatly from the destruction. More than 10 million Ukrainians were forced to leave their homes and native places, and a third of them received refugee status in Europe.

The war unleashed against Ukraine closed the road to the civilized world for Russia. The international community is constantly increasing sanctions against Russia, but Putin is not yet going to stop the war, which destroys not only cities but also civilians.

We, members of the People's anti-war movement, call for the most urgent measures to be taken to prevent further destruction of civilians. Closing Ukrainian airspace is the only effective way to stop civilian deaths.
